Debbie Hans
From my standpoint, I believe Debbie fits all of the criteria for the DAISY Award.
She was a team player and worked well with the nurses and techs on the Vascular unit. She was constantly serving as an advocate for me and my needs. Her greatest attribute is her love and compassion, as well as her knowledge. On occasions, due to the amputation of my left leg and the problems which developed, she understood my pain and knew how to help me deal with it, as well as doing what she could the next time to reduce it before working on the wound.
I believe Debbie is called to nursing and she knows this and realizes it is a job. More importantly, she is where and doing what she needs to be doing. She has made an impact on me, my wife, my sister-in-law, and my brother and sister who stayed with me. Debbie will always be remembered.
