Deborah Sanford

Deborah Sanford has been with IU Health West since opening day!  She started her nursing career as a candy striper, worked as an aide and a certified medical assistant, studied to be an LPN and then was encouraged by her colleagues to attain the Registered Nurse designation.  Deb’s specialty is orthopedics and she has maintained her orthopedic nursing certification for many years, often attending the National Orthopedic Nurse’s annual meeting to keep her skills and knowledge current.

One of her recent patients forwarded the following comment:  “Some folks fit into the criteria which is required to be naturally successful at what they so.  Debbie has the confidence to do her job well, makes her patients feel good about themselves, and has a sense of humor and a personality that helps her patients feel better—like medicine.  It’s obvious she cares about those in her care, shows respect for her fellow associates and is assertive, effective and highly skilled.  Debbie has a God-given talent, and I’m happy she is sharing it!”
