Diane Manning

Nurse Diane was nominated by a family with a very small child who had to come to the hospital and stayed unexpectedly. The baby’s parents were overwhelmed with multiple tests and procedures done on their small baby, but Diane was able to help them through their difficult time.

They described their experience as follows: “Diane has shown so much care and compassion when caring for our infant son. One evening after a long day of blood tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, etc. we were awaiting news of whether our 6-week old infant would need to be re-admitted to Children's.  Diane stayed with me and even accompanied me to admitting area to support me when I was upset. She took time out of her busy schedule to coordinate follow-up tests throughout the day and even came to radiology at one point to give me instructions of where to go next. Diane was wholeheartedly there for us during this really difficult and uncertain time in our lives. She deserves this DAISY Award and so much more. We truly are so grateful for the amazing care she delivered to our baby and our family.”
