Eli Ticar

Eli was nominated by the parent of one of her patients who wrote:  My family & I would like to nominate our nurse, Eli, for the DAISY award because she has been like a guardian angel to our baby.  She takes great care of our preemie born at 24 weeks.  It was a frightening experience entering the NICU, but Eli helped to unravel the confusion by explaining things to us, sometimes two or three times, until we understood.  Personally, she has helped me to feel more like a mom because I now know how to do basic things like bathing my child, changing her clothes and more important NICU things like stimulating her when she is having a bradycardia event.  I love the way Eli hums while she works, which soothes my child and me alike.  Eli’s encouragement and hope help me to be able to relax and allow my baby to grow & develop.  We trust her with our child so we can sleep at night knowing she is near.
