I was brought to Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa as an emergency patient with a compound fracture of my right femur. I was traveling with my wife on a diving trip from Minneapolis, Minnesota when I fell in a hotel parking lot. It was difficult to be in such pain and be so far from home. Emilie Smith made me feel right at home right away. She took a personal interest in me and aggressively managed my pain. She took special care to support me and my wife emotionally.
