Emily Timmins

Emily Timmins is very deserving of the DAISY Award. Staff frequently comments that they love working with her.  She is a GREAT team player and is always willing to help anyone, anytime.

Emily is a self motivated learner.  She initiated her own orientation to care of the pediatric client and has shown tremendous competence when caring for this age group. In fact, it was the mother of one of her pediatric clients that told me she was going to nominate Emily for this award.  This mother told me she had never met a nurse who was as supportive and nice as Emily.  She said when she found out her son was going to be admitted she became frightened and very upset.  Emily walked into the child’s hospital room and saw her crying.  Emily walked over to her and gave her a hug and told her everything would be okay.  She knew from that moment on, her son would be taken care of and would get better.  The hug and Emily’s kind, supportive words, was a small thing, but she forever touched this mother on an emotional level.  She knew Emily cared.

Emily works with quiet confidence.  She is dependable, empathetic, compassionate, kind and respectful. She selflessly adjusts her schedule to meet the needs of the unit as well as her coworkers.
