Garrett Teel

Garrett was nominated by a grateful patient's family:

My daughter came into SF ER with a 104 temp and screaming in pain. We were moved to Fast Track where she was put in a bed real fast. When we met Garrett he took time to calm her, talk to her and try to explain things to her. He promised her she would be better. When they took blood from her it was a fight. He stopped, calmed her down and tried again. He did not get frustrated like others. When he was done and the doctors and Garrett had test results and treatment complete, Garrett brought her a teddy bear. She does not let go of that bear when she is sad. That bear is now named Garrett. I don’t know how to explain the compassion he has for his patients and his job. The best nurse I have ever met. Thanks for making my 3 year old happy and understand what was happening. She, her father, and I are so grateful for a person like you.
