Irma Fonte

Irma Fonte, RN, intermediate care unit, was recently presented with Carroll Hospital Center’s August DAISY Award. A nurse at the hospital since 2004, Fonte was recognized for going above and beyond her regular duties to assist patients as a Spanish translator.  She often stays past her scheduled shift to help staff explain to patients their procedures, daily nursing care and discharge instructions. She also has a great rapport with her patients and uses her skill to calm them when in need.

“Irma is a true patient advocate and team player.  She can always be counted on to go the extra mile for her patients and her kindness comes from the heart,” Stephanie Reid, RN, BSN, MBA, Chief Nursing Officer and Assistant Vice President of Nursing, said.
