Jan has a professional greeting, is down to earth, and has a down to business attitude. She takes charge, but is still witty and cheerful, with a compassionate demeanor.
Within minutes of meeting Jan, I knew she really cared about me. I trusted her completely. She looked me in the eyes and listened, REALLY listened, and then took action. She meticulously, painlessly, and expertly removed bad tissue from my wound and put a special dressing over it. She spent time teaching me how to change my dressing and wash my hands. She talked to me about the foods I can eat to heal faster. She helped me find other resources in Kaiser for other medical problems I had, and sent supplies to my house to help me bandage my sore.
During my visits I laughed, I cried, she listened, and I always got my hug. I was sad today to say goodbye but my leg is healed. She is more than a nurse, she is my angel.
