Janet Berger

I am privileged to work with Janet Berger often.  She is always going above and beyond for her patients in small and large ways.

Today was one of our patients’ birthdays; and like she does whenever she knows our patient is here during a birthday, she invited us to sing happy birthday to him. Frequently, she gets the patients a piece of cake from the cafeteria or something they may like to make their day special. It’s a small thing, but it really makes our patients smile. This patient really wanted pizza on his birthday and was unable to get it. Janet ordered him a pizza with the toppings he requested, paid for it herself and had it delivered and then rounded us all up to sing and help him celebrate his birthday. It’s hard enough to be in the hospital and I’m sure even harder on your birthday. It’s so nice to see that even though Janet has been a nurse for a while, she never lets the small things fall through the cracks. She really makes our patients feel important and valued when they are here.
