Janine Eldred

Janine Eldred received the DAISY Award for not one, but two recent patient care situations. A common theme in both scenarios was Janine’s attentiveness and patience with patients and their families.

One particular nominator praised Janine for treating her son – a patient who was mute and unable to move most of his body – with dignity and respect, despite his communication challenges. “Janine quickly learned to communicate with him and became his advocate in every sense of the word,” the patient’s mother said, “treating him the way we would want to be treated if we were in his circumstances.”

A second nominator commended a number of people for the care of her sister – a patient who had to be admitted to Saint Agnes a series of times over month – and she singled out Janine in particular. The nominator thanked Janine for her patience, attentiveness and guidance to the many questions asked of her. “She is an asset to her profession and to Saint Agnes,” the nominator stated.
