Jeanette is a very sensitive caregiver. She is always willing to help out her fellow co-workers by picking up extra shifts, staying late to help out a busy unit, offers words of encouragement and praise to coworkers. She takes care of her patients in the same way going the extra mile for them. Never complaining of who or how many patients she has. Her patients praise her with words like “compassion, caring, and professional.” She has a calming effect on co-workers and patients alike. She works as a resource nurse and is a strong leader. She participates on several committees, department and hospital-wide. She is a true example of what the DAISY Award Program is seeking.

Nomination #2 – written by Dr. Mark Simon

I’m sorry I don’t have any specific examples at the moment but Jeanette Wright from the ED manifests points 1-6 (leads by example, sensitive caregiver, team player, dedicated mentor, true patient advocate, insightful caregiver) every single day in the Emergency Department. She is a star. Sick patients, well patients, old patients, young patients, intoxicated patients, angry patients, etc, etc, etc. She’s fantastic with all of them.
