Johanna Gross

Johanna was an excellent nurse who went out of her way to take care of me and advocate for me. One of the days she was my nurse, I was in terrible pain. The resident was not very familiar with my medical condition and was hesitant and extremely slow to understand the situation and get me pain relief. Johanna was tireless in advocating for me with the doctors. I imagine it can be intimidating for a nurse to stand up to a doctor who is in the wrong, but that is what she did. She showed great depth of care and concern.  She didn’t avoid a difficult situation but put her patient’s best interest first. She was by my side for that extremely difficult day. We will always remember her and what she did for us. 

 Also, she stayed hours after her shift (a late one) to make sure I was taken care of. She went so far beyond the call of duty that truly she is an exemplary nurse. I can’t think of a better one.
