Josie Palma

Josie exemplifies the nurse I would want to care for me or my family member. Josie is forever calm, kind and patient, handling even the most stressful situations with compassion and grace and always with a smile for everyone, even at the end of a long twelve hour night. One of our patients related “Josie deserves recognition for her caring and patience, and as the one who never gave up when I got mad and blew off some steam. My favorite nurse in the E.R is Josie…she is one heck of a nurse and person. Thank you Josie!” She is kind to all patients and staff and a true example of clinical excellence, as well. She seems to be in constant motion attending to the needs of her patients or helping other staff.

For her consistent efforts to give the best care to even the toughest of patients, and for being an excellent role model for us all, I nominate Josie Palma for the DAISY Award. She is, indeed, extraordinary.
