Karen Dixon

Dr. Gobel ordered a nasal gastric tube for me. A nurse kept trying to install it with no success putting me in terrible pain. Karen Dixon came to my rescue. She installed the Nasal Gastric tube with tremendous skill telling me when and how to breathe, when to swallow to make the installation. I trusted her completely because she was so capable and extraordinarily kind and compassionate. She stayed one hour after her shift ended to do the installation and made sure it was working properly and that I was comfortable with the situation.

Another night Karen stayed ½ hour after her shift ended to make sure that I was going to be all right. Her main concern in all her nursing care of me has been to do all she could to make me confident and comfortable and to promote my healing which she has done so successfully.

She is the best nurse I have ever had and I have had many nurses. Karen truly is an outstanding caring nurse for the DAISY award.
