Kathy Mize

Kathy was nominated by three separate members of the same family.  This family shared that Kathy was there every step of the way their sweet baby was in the NICU- looking for answers and finally getting the diagnosis.  Any time the baby’s mother had a question, didn’t quite understand what the doctors said, or was afraid to approach a physician with her question, Kathy was her advocate.  As a special treat, she even brought the baby’s mother breakfast one morning.  When it came time to say good bye to their sweet boy, Kathy was there with the family.  She laughed and cried with them.  This family was not from Memphis, so it was especially touching when Kathy went out of town to attend the funeral for this child.  The family made special mention that Kathy treated this baby as though he were her own.
