Kristin Roosa
I have had the pleasure of working with Kristin since she started at Harborview in 2009. During that time I have experienced Kristin to not only be a great clinician but a strong patient advocate. Her co-workers say that she always has a great attitude and a smile to brighten the day. She works really hard and always offers assistance to others who are busy, a true team player. Kristin consistently follows the patient and family centered care principles of putting patients first. Her patients appreciate her kindness and warmth. She takes extra time with them to talk with them and gets to know them. This helps her to deliver the personalized care that they need. Kristin also collaborates with the physician teams to ensure that her patients achieve the best possible outcomes. Kristin has been instrumental in developing our 7E best practice group. She, along with a few other 7E nurses developed a bedside pain tool for the nurses to use with the patients, resulting in our patient satisfaction scores going up to the 90th percentile. We have been able to achieve this success with her input and education. Kristin is certainly the nurse I would want to care for me or my loved ones and I believe that she is very deserving of the DAISY Award.
