Kristina Protacio

Post Heart Cath I was admitted to CITU. Kristina welcomed both me and my family with an exceptional warm, professional, and truly compassionate nursing style that relieved my anxiety immediately. She showed an extensive knowledge base with an extraordinary attention to detail. I never even had to use the nurse call light!! Kristina expressed such concern for my spiritual as well as medical needs with such a passion for nursing that I was truly humbled by the experience. Above all, she has changed my husband’s opinion about hospitals; he has never experienced such amazing care. She has a calm, gracious demeanor, which sets everyone at ease. I will never forget her! From Kristina’s Head Nurse, Zary Koftekian, CITU: Kristina came to GAMC as a new RN intern on 9/21/09. She attended Glendale Community College for her RN program, and currently is attending Cal-State for her Bachelor’s Degree. Her hometown is Glendale, CA, and her favorite vacation destination is the Philippines. Her favorite book/movie is ‘The Notebook’. Kristina is a very respectful, humble, kind, sweet nurse who is loved by everyone. She is very intelligent and competent. In the short time that she has been with us, she has accomplished many unit projects including the PCI Gold Standard revision and Pressure ulcer posters and inservices. She is an active member of the Frail and Elderly PI Team and participating in UP for Meals Campaign. She has accomplished more than any new nurse I know. She does deserve this DAISY award.
