Lea Ann Hawthorne
Lea Ann was nominated for the DAISY Award by a former patient she cared for. In his nomination, the patient stated, “Lea Ann really seemed to go out of her way to make sure I felt safe, informed, encouraged, and stayed positive. She made me feel like I was her only patient. She helped me feel like I would survive. I truly thought I was never leaving the hospital, and she gave me hope and great nursing care. Even when she was charge nurse, she checked on me frequently and helped make me feel special and well-cared for. She is an outstanding nurse and made all the difference in my recovery!”
