Leena Sesay

Nurse Leena truly displays and exemplifies what an extraordinary nurse is and how healthcare should be performed. She goes over and beyond her call of duty and treats her patients like family.

There was one particular instance while my child was intubated when I noticed that water kept building up in the tube. As a result, my child kept choking- this caused her heart rate to drop and desats to occur. Leena was attentive, listened to my concerns, and acknowledged my opinions and thoughts. She recommended to the entire team of nurses and physicians preventative measures to keep this from happening by close monitoring and suctioning my daughter immediately. From this gesture I knew that Leena is and always will be a prominent source in my daughter’s recovery. I also grew to love Nurse Leena due to her attentive and happy spirit!

Nurse Leena has always made me feel comfortable and secure with my daughter’s status even through this stressful situation. Nurse Leena always informed me of what was going on with my daughter and even when she is not her assigned nurse, she always comes to check on my daughter. I love Leena’s easygoing and straightforward approach. She is a wonderful nurse. When my daughter first got admitted to Children’s, Nurse Leena immediately made me feel comfortable. During admission she answered all of my questions and explained to me things I did not understand. At this point my daughter is being prepared to get discharged and Nurse Leena is still as attentive as she was during admission day!
