Lisa Conley

I am writing this letter to recommend a highly qualified candidate for the DAISY Award.  I believe that the nurse I am nominating expresses the spirit of the DAISY Award with her high standard of patient care and her ability to do the best for each patient and nurse under her guidance and mentorship.  The candidate that I am recommending is Lisa Conley.

Lisa has demonstrated exemplary performance with so much loyalty and dedication to the profession of nursing.  An example of this is when a long-standing patient of the Renal Unit was admitted.  He wasn’t doing well this night.  Subsequently, the patient suffered an MI and coded on the unit.  Lisa was the charge nurse that night, and the staff was able to stabilize the patient enough to transfer to the cardiac cath lab.  The patient’s wife came in to be with the patient.  She was alone without family or support.  Lisa took her own lunch time to sit with the wife in the cath lab.  She also consulted with the nurse from that area to call her if anything happened to the patient after she left.  The patient ended up passing away.  Lisa was able to support the wife through this difficult time period and was a telephone support after the wife went home.
