Lisa Egan, Staff Nurse–Resource, Radiology Sedation, Children’s at Egleston 

Lisa Egan is a role model to her fellow staff members in the Radiology Sedation unit at Children’s at Egleston. A natural leader, Lisa steps up and makes decisions autonomously that affect patient care and patient flow in Radiology. When the assistant manager took a week off, she made sure the department ran smoothly. She came in extra just to ensure patient flow was efficient and that staff had the resources they needed to get the job done well. She obtained—and has maintained—her CPN and recently received her moderate sedation certification. Lisa is active on the Patient and Family Centered Care CHOICE committee. As a Magnet champion, she has played an integral role in the organization’s journey to achieve Magnet status. Through all of these things, Lisa demonstrates dedication to excellence in patient care. Lisa also has excellent clinical, critical–thinking and decision–making skills, and she consistently focuses on meeting the needs of patients and their families. Lisa makes a difference everyday in the lives of the patients and families that come through Radiology for diagnostic procedures and treatments.
