Margaret Delks

Margaret always goes above and beyond with all of her patient population. However last week, two families left our hospital without the proper drugs and equipment. These families realized they were in trouble when arriving at their homes.  Margaret not only talked to these families, but went above and beyond by delivering the drugs and equipment to their doorstep and took the time to educate in proper function.

Margaret is devoted to her nursing practice and demonstrates a true advocacy for her work.  She has a vast knowledge base and is always willing to share and facilitate learning in the clinical environment.  Margaret is dedicated to making sure the “patient” is the primary focus and at the center of what we do as nurses.

Under Margaret's leadership, she has made orthopedics at IU North worthy of being designated a Center of Excellence in joint replacements.  It’s her energy, availability, affability, intelligence, and ability to work with all those involved that has made us so successful and the envy of all the other hospitals in the system.  She and the wonderful nurses and staff have helped the lives of so many patients.  I can think of no one more deserving of the DAISY Award.  She is an exemplary nurse.  Congratulations and keep up the great work!

I have only been at North for a few months, but have found Margaret to be the go to person when we need something. She is really great with our patients and helps make North a special place.
