Mary Cummings

Mary was nominated for the DAISY Award by a former patient she cared for.  In the nomination the patient said, “We met Mary in October 2008 while we were in labor with our 39 week stillborn child.  Mary provided wonderful and top notch compassion and empathy.  Mary consistently provided for all our needs.

On August 9, 2011 we came back to Saint Luke’s to deliver our twin girls.  To our surprise Mary was our nurse again.  She not only remembers us, but our first baby as well.  It is a bittersweet ending to our journey of relying on God for strength and hope in suffering to rejoicing for God’s promise.  Mary was so sweet that she cried with us then and now, not only with us but with everyone else in the delivery room.”
