Maureen Mills, RN

Labor and Delivery

Winchester Hospital

Winchester, Massachusetts

Maureen Mills, RN is the most recent recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses after being nominated by a patient for being “not just my nurse, but a friend.”  She is the first nurse at Winchester Hospital to be recognized twice with the award.  She received the DAISY Award the first time in July 2009.

In the nomination, the patient recalled how Maureen helped her “see beyond the pain and hurt” after a difficult loss during her hospitalization in April 2009.  The patient gave birth to a healthy baby girl in October 2010.

“Maureen deserves this award more than anyone, because if it wasn’t for her and her caring, compassion, sensitive self, I truly believe my grieving process would have been a lot harder for me.  I want Maureen to know that what she does and who she is as a person is definitely a positive addition to Winchester Hospital and the lives of her patients.”
