Melida Pelaez

Melida Pelaez serves as a Registered Nurse for the Youth Enrichment Services Program at both Halsey and Jefferson Academies. With five years of nursing experience and a BA in Psychology she is well equipped to address adolescent problems such as depression, substance abuse, grief & bereavement, and more. Her main focus is on teen parenting and pregnancy prevention.

Ms. Pelaez is a warm and compassionate person who is concerned for people's feelings. She is able to gently address unhealthy behaviors while also inspiring hope. A highly intuitive individual, she believes in the potential and possibilities of all of her clients. She is always available to support her students even if it means going to an appointment with them or connecting them with a special resource. It is traits like these that help her foster a strong trusting relationship with her clients and it is these traits that keep her clients connected to the much needed services we have to offer.

Efficient, ethical, respectful and energetic are descriptors for her. Not only a good clinician and dedicated worker, Melida is a team player and consummate professional. She is a very good networker, liaison of resources and excellent representative of this organization.
