Michael Prudencio

Michael Prudencio is a registered nurse (RN) who practices in Oncology. Michael is being honored with the DAISY Award for being a superb role model for his peers. His nomination reads “Michael has a unique ability to lead and inspire other to remove barriers and form new relationships between patients and staff.”

Michael’s peer states “I was in awe with the way Michael cared for a patient who was refusing treatment because of grief and depression.” Michael’s peer describes a patient encounter where Michael “took the time to sit down at the patient’s bedside, listen to the patient, offer reassurance, and develop trust”.  Because of Michael’s actions, the patient felt safe and was empowered to participate in their care!

Michael’s actions exemplify him as caring, compassionate, and outstanding with communicating. Michael’s nomination reads “his attitude and performance creates an environment that inspires teamwork among the myriad of healthcare team workers.
