Michelle Moore, R.N. from Cath Lab was nominated for assisting another department that was in a bind and desperately in need of help. Michelle willingly volunteered to come and assist. While helping out, a patient in the new area became distressed and clinically unstable. In fact, it was difficult to acquire a blood pressure on the patient, requiring special equipment to be used. Michelle went into action and was able to assess the patient herself, get in touch with the physician, and came up with an excellent plan of action. She truly went above and beyond and is very much appreciated by the staff in the area she was assisting and by the patient. She was able to turn a negative experience into a positive one.
On another occasion, Michelle came to the assistance of a patient experiencing a life crisis in the parking lot. She immediately went out to help and stayed with the patient until care arrived, even accompanying the patient to the emergency room. Michelle is truly a special and compassionate person exemplifying the ICARE values. She is a wonderful team member and asset to the hospital.
