Mindy Bowen

I received treatment in November and December 2010. When I first saw the hyperbaric unit, I was scared to death. Tears were streaming down both cheeks. Mindy and Alicia immediately gave me a hug and told me that everything would be okay. I have been places before where they are fun, kind and attentive in the beginning, then after two or three visits – forget it. MVHS Hyperbaric unit was the same everyday I was there. The nurses took the pain out of being there everyday for treatment. Their care and check-ups while you are “diving” was unbelievably attentive. They made me feel safe and I learned a lot about what was happening to my body. The girls were always “all smiles” and that has a tendency to rub off on you. Mindy was training others to get certified while I was there. She was an awesome teacher. I have never seen anyone juggle so much without losing their cool or losing track of what they are doing. She is amazing! On the last day they saw I was having trouble clearing my ears. They quickly ran me through a bunch of different things. Mindy finally said to raise up. That simple action took the pressure off my eardrum and prevented it from bursting. She is a special person and a true DAISY Nurse!
