Minh Thai

From the moment I received the phone call on Thursday from my Oncologist to “immediately get to the ER to check in”, I was scared. I have been diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. My journey began on August 18, 2011, starting at UMC with a headache and finding out it was a brain tumor. I have four children, and I have spent more time in hospitals than I care to.

One of your nurses in particular is quite special. Minh Thai is so thorough, has a kind demeanor, and absolutely has a heart for nursing. She has been here when promised, answered every question, attended to every need, and even stepped outside the box and actually anticipated some of my needs.

Minh went above and beyond, and is the ONLY reason we will be returning to this hospital, since, unfortunately, with my condition, I will have to be hospitalized. She never once looked at me with pity or treated me like I was already a lost cause.
