Richard Lynge, RN

SICU

CoxHealth

Springfield, Missouri

While speaking with a patient and her family today I was asked to relay how impressed they were with the care they received during a previous stay as well as this present admission. Of all the nurses that cared for this patient when she was critically ill, one nurse in SICU really stood out as totally exceeding their expectations. That was Richard Lynge.

The patient and her husband related to me how Richard seemed to know when they were in need of some extra reassurance and how he would immediately make them feel more relaxed and secure. They told me how Richard was extremely attentive to her every need. He always made sure both the patient and her husband were comfortable and had everything they needed. Most of all, the patient and her husband were so grateful for the compassion and professionalism Richard displayed throughout her prolonged stay in the surgical intensive care unit. The patient also stated she remembers all the times Richard prayed for her and she believes God used Richard to help in her recovery process. The heart-felt care Richard provided helped this family through an extremely difficult time.

Richard made such a positive impact on this family that even though they were experiencing an additional crisis situation at home that was demanding their attention, they still insisted on seeing him one more time before they were discharged.
