Robert Bergman

Robert is an excellent choice for the DAISY Award.  A patient’s family member in Pre op was complaining of not feeling well.  Robert approached her and was very concerned.  She presented with severe chest pain, extreme diaphoresis and was very pale.  Upon attaching her to the monitor he found that she had ST segment elevation which meant that she was having an ST segment elevation MI (STEMI).  This is an emergency.  With his quick thinking  he quickly rushed this person to the ER in 8 minutes and within 41 minutes; she was in the Cath Lab.  He saved a person’s life that day.

He went above and beyond because of his quick thinking, critical skills and compassion.
