Sharon Leasure

Sharon Leasure is an exemplary nurse.  She is a preceptor in the ICU/CVICU at Methodist Healthcare South and a great mentor to the graduate nurses.  Sharon truly loves nursing care and it is evident in her daily practice.  Sharon is skilled in caring for every patient that she encounters in the ICU and is a strong patient advocate.  When it comes to Balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, CABG patients, whatever the scenario may be, Sharon controls the situation.  Not only does Sharon handle the equipment, but she is very compassionate with her patients and families.  Mrs. Leasure is a wife and mother, however she still manages to work overtime when requested to ensure that no harm comes to our patients because she is a true team player.  Sharon has a big heart and her love knows no boundaries.  Sharon is a part of our Shared Governance Team and has been instrumental in the new initiative “Patient Family Centered Care” at Methodist South.  I could go on for hours and days telling about the great work that Sharon has done, but time won’t allow.  I hope this short summation of this great nurse will help you understand why Sharon is so deserving of the DAISY Award.  If I were ever ill I would want Sharon Leasure to care for me. Sharon is an excellent nurse and she goes above and beyond her call of duty.
