Sheila cared for our family like no one I’ve ever seen.  She’d been my grandfather’s nurse for the past 2 weeks in ICU and she has been amazing.  Today, my grandfather passed while on ICU.  Sheila wasn’t even working on our hall today but she came up to support our family today as soon as he passed.  She is the most compassionate and warm human being in the world.  She was the perfect nurse to be working with during their difficult time.  She is amazing and deserves this award.  Please give it to her.  She deserves the recognition and praise.  Thank you for your time.  Me and my family love you all and thank you all for everything.

Nomination from co-worker

Sheila went above and beyond for a patient on IMC.  This patient is vent dependent, 400 lbs, depressed and has been here since 12-2010. He has been bathed/cleaned while a patient here, but has not showered in 6 months.  That changed today!  Sheila made arrangements on PSC1, packed him up in the wheelchair and took him to the shower.  She then stood beside him and washed his hair.  This patient requires major encouragement, assistance and support just to breathe and get out of bed, so this is a major accomplishment that needs to be celebrated!
