Sheila Rowles

Sheila is known for her compassion towards patients and her co-workers. Sheila was caring for a dying patient whose family had difficulty dealing with the situation and took it out on staff members. Several nurses did not feel comfortable with having this assignment, but Sheila did not hesitate. With the help of co-workers, Sheila’s other patients’ needs were met. This allowed Sheila to keep the patient comfortable, and do what was needed for her family. This patient passed away peacefully with her family and Sheila at her bedside. The patient’s family changed after her passing. They were calm, tearful, and expressed their gratitude to Sheila and the rest of the staff. Sheila gave them the time they needed with their family member, as well as a shoulder to cry on
