Cheryl Weber
Jane Gilman, Nurse Manager, 3-West, was making rounds. A terminal cancer patient explained that she didn’t want to leave Saint Agnes without someone knowing about Cheryl, one of the lead Unit Coordinators on night shift. The patient explained that Cheryl had been there for her on many nights when she just needed a warm, human touch. The patient most appreciated Cheryl’s ability to make her feel safe, taking the time to “just be there,” always having the right words and caring touch to help the patient feel she’d retained her dignity. The patient wanted to make it clear that she wasn’t saying that the other nurses weren’t good to her, but that Cheryl had something special, that Cheryl was a “little God goodie.”
