David Villez
David is thorough and caring towards his patients. His concern and care go beyond just the regular stay on the unit. When patients come back for their outpatient procedures, David asks them questions and makes sure they are doing safe follow-up care at home. His care extends to his fellow workers too. Recently, another nurse had 3 patients who were all critical in one way or another, one with extremely low blood pressure. David jumped in to help monitor the two patients undergoing transfusion and then helped to discharge one when the transfusion was complete. This allowed the other nurse to remain in the room with the patient who had the low blood pressure. After it was all over, David stayed to cover so the other nurse could take a break and re-group. The nurse said, “He is a great charge nurse and I always know that he will have my back and keep the floor safe.”
