Deanna Bruzzese
Deanna recently took care of a terminally ill patient. She always has a smile on her face...ready to jump in to help her patients. She is very compassionate and caring towards her patients...I have see many examples throughout the years where she went out of her way to help her patients. She was taking care of a patient with stage 4 colon cancer and was given the prognosis to live 3-6 months. The patient's wife had to leave the ED to pick up their children. Deanna stayed after her shift to stay with the patient since he was all alone. When he was admitted and moved to one of the floors Deanna went with him and stayed with him until his wife returned. It was very moving to watch this nurse take time out of her busy, personal, schedule for a patient who had feelings of pain, fatigue and loneliness.
