Emi is an outstanding nurse. Every day she provides excellent care to her patients. Last week she received a very difficult assignment: a patient who spoke only Swahili. Emi was on the phone with the translator and the patient, asking her questions about her expectations and pain management. I know it was very difficult for Emi to care for that patient while not being able to communicate with her. The had her pain well controlled throughout her stay. Emi learned a few Swahili words that day to better communicate with her patient. The patient ended up delivering healthy twin girls with her pain very well managed. I was impressed with Emi's performance.
