Judy Fleming

The following comments were made about Judy that led to her being chosen by the DAISY Award Council for the recognition as a DAISY Recipient.

(1st comment) - “Judy was awesome as well as professional to me. She took extra time to assure that my IV went in correctly the first time so that I would not have to go thru so much pain.

(2nd comment) I have had the pleasure of working with this nurse over the past two years. The skills this nurse exhibits are exceptional and so is 4-14’s bedside manner. I have witnessed first hand Judy’s kindness and caring spirit. No matter how busy the day may be Judy always has time to sit down and talk with patients and their families, answer any and all questions, or just hold their hands in silence. Excellent charge nurse who promotes team work on our unit. Always leading by example. Consistently named on the patient satisfaction surveys which speak volumes of Judy.

Surveys remarks say, “Judy is an excellent nurse and particularly kind and compassionate.” Excellent rapport and respect from physicians. Judy always volunteers to precept new nurses on our unit – very patient and kind to these new nurses. Always encouraging. With all the changes on our unit, Judy has been the leader among the nursing staff to embrace and accept the changes. Rallies everyone else to get on board. Reminds me of a cartoon character of the duck floating ever so calmly on the surface of the water but underneath the duck is paddling as hard as he can to stay afloat. No matter how busy or tough a shift may be or how hard Judy may be paddling to stay afloat, always appears calm, has a smile on face and is saying her favorite three words….”It’s all good!”
