Kathy Aho fills two roles on 5E, floor nurse and charge nurse.  As a floor nurse, she is always a great advocate for her patients and always pushes for the “extras”.  This includes mobilization, baths during day shift and even braiding long hair.  I have never witnessed her patients having needs that were not met.

One patient’s family member wrote, “To begin with, Kathy is a heaven sent angel.  She has treated my brother as one of her own.  She gave him all of herself – not only good care but her mind and her prayers.  She took care of his big to small needs in every way.  She also took excellent care of his family, explaining his daily plans, his labs and his progress.  I have no words to explain her qualities and wish her lots of luck.”

As a charge nurse, Kathy is a positive motivator.  She checks on her nurses constantly and gets them the help they need.  She isn’t afraid to “get her hands dirty” and help a nurse out of trouble.  I cannot think of anyone who is a better coworker and friend to our unit.
