Laura Johnson
Laura was nominated by a coworker: "Laura is an amazing nurse, friend, and leader. She is energetic, outgoing, and easily motivates people to change for the better. She is involved in numerous committees. She completed a quality improvement project and presented a poster at our first EBP Poster Presentation. Laura has the night shift working as a well oiled team. Because of her, the night staff on B4S are extremely open to change. She is always looking for ways to improve the unit and the hospital. She then puts these thoughts into action and motivates others to do so as well. For example: she found creative ways to ensure that all staff greatly improved the Medication Reconciliation process. She is currently working with pharmacy on a project to determine the most cost effective size of NS to use with blood transfusions. She keeps everyone on B4S well informed of what's going on throughout Baylor. Laura has also created several poster boards with everyone's pictures, helping increase morale. She is always willing to help anyone on the unit anytime. She cares deeply for her patients, families and colleagues. She also cares deeply for her manager who is going through something on one should ever have to go through. Laura has collected an amazing amount of money and is going to participate in the 3-Day Race to benefit breast cancer research." |
