Mari Ratliff
Mari is the kind of nurse I aspire to be. She is a leader and a role model, always supportive of her staff and an excellent patient advocate. I have watched Mari at the bedside listening to her patient’s needs and addressing them with precision, getting that last pillow in just the right spot. I recall a night when one of her younger patients just had to make an important phone call. Mari got a wheelchair and, with a smile on her face, wheeled the patient into another room so she could make her call without disturbing her mom. Mari is very supportive of her staff, always willing to help and take charge of a situation if the need arises, even to calling the physicians to advocate if necessary. The humor and fun she brings to the work environment make each shift with her truly entertaining. I would like to honor and commend her for loving her job and sharing it by her actions. It is an honor to work with such a fine nurse. We know that, when Mari, is in charge, the whole floor is in good hands.
