Maria Abreu

I noticed Nurse Abreu standing at a newborns bedside for quite some time so I approached her to find out what's going on and she stated that she noticed that the baby's oxygen saturation improved a lot when she tried to keep the baby contained using her two hands. Maria shared this information with the mother in Spanish in soft and gentle tone. She stood there until the mother was able to calm down and Maria showed her how to touch the baby gently to establish and promote quality bonding time. She was able to establish a relationship with the family because of her sincerity, compassion, and genuine spirit. She also assisted the family when the baby was baptized that same day by Father Briceland.
