Marilyn was nominated by a patient's daughter, a nurse: "I have known Marilyn for many years as she worked as an RN on our DOU years past. At that time I knew Marilyn to be a kind and compassionate person. This time I come to Marilyn for her expertise in Oncology nursing as my mother has been diagnosed with cancer. She gave me comfort and reassurance. She stopped what she was doing, had me sit beside her and gave me her attention, knowledge, and skill. She provided me with patient friendly information. She knew I was a nurse but treated me as a concerned daughter".
