Marisa's nomination reads as follows: "Marisa is the charge nurse on the orthopedic unit at Saint Peter's University Hospital. She is an excellent patient advocate. Patients often comment on her kind manner, her superb listening skills and her outstanding sense of empathy. Her fellow nurses on orthopedics look up to her as a leader and example and she is a tremendous resource to them. She never misses a birthday or an occasion. The DAISY Award celebrates nurses that truly touch the hearts of those around them and we celebrate Marisa for just that reason." |
