Reiko Watanabe
Reiko was gratefully nominated by the husband of one of her many patients, pointing out her strong compassion and dedication. When informed of Reiko winning one of the DAISY Awards, the patient's husband noted, “She made my stay special…she spoiled us as our very first nurse…she made sure I was comfortable when I wasn’t even the patient…it felt like she had six hands, she was a whirlwind and she should be the model for all nurses.” “We have encountered many high level professionals during our time here following the surgery of my wife, but the care we received from Nurse Reiko can only be described as phenomenal. Her professional demeanor and amazing sensitivity supersedes any I have ever seen in all my 64 years. Reiko is the ideal nurse. She literally floats around the room and has an amazing ability to orchestrate everything that needs attention, and goes out of her way to enhance patient comfort. Although she works tirelessly and effortlessly, she performs tasks and little jobs that most all other nurses tend to overlook at times. It’s obvious that genuine and sincere care for others is her natural calling. We can only hope she will soon be called on to teach future generations what the perfect nurse looks like.
