Sarah Pickel

Sarah has been a nurse at TCH since 1977. She has served in many leadership roles during that tenure including Director of the ED, Director of Medical/Surgical Specialties Clinics and most recently as Director of Community Health Programs and Sub-Specialty Nursing. Sarah epitomized "servant leadership." She has provided strong leadership and mentorship for a huge number of staff in many different roles and departments. She always puts the needs of her staff and TCH ahead of any personal needs.

Sarah has also helped organize an annual volunteer event at TCH with the local Indiana University Alumni group (her alma mater). This is an annual event for TCH patients and families called "Hoosier Halloween" that has grown into a great fun event over the past several years.

Overall, Sarah is a wonderful pediatric nurse leader who has dedicated her careeer to improving the care of pediatric patients and mentoring the next generation of nurse leaders at The Children's Hospital.
