I recommend Susan Campbell for the DAISY Award because on 9-6-09 she was caring for two patients who were discharged home with the same prescription. These were both maternity patients with flu-like symptoms. After discharge, the patients were unable to have their prescriptions filled stating that the prescriptions needed prior approval from the insurance companies before the medicine would be covered. This was a holiday weekend and the patients would have to go two days without the prescribed medication. After work Susan went and paid for the prescriptions so that both patients would have their medications.
