Stephany Smith

Stephany Smith recently had a patient who had Alzheimer’s.  The spouse was the sole caregiver.  He was taking care of his wife the best he could.  They were in their 70’s.  When the patient came out of the operating room, Stephany noted to the patient in a very caring way that the skin on her arms was so dry.  Without giving a second thought Stephany retrieved the staff lotion and applied some to the patient’s arms.  The patient voiced her appreciation.

During our discussion of this event we all made comment of how men do not think about applying lotion. We also discussed how we are sure this spouse was doing the best he could for his wife. Thumbs up for Stephany for seizing the opportunity to be loving and caring.
